WORKSHOP: RADICAL IMAGINATION & INCLUSIVE ENGAGEMENT

This session is led by Tafadzwa Chando - an indigenous, youth, and climate activist from Zimbabwe. They are the Founder of Magna Youth and the Climate Refugees Initiative, as well as the International Programmes Lead for Climate Live. In this workshop, Tafadzwa will explore how climate communication often reaches people who are already engaged, informed, and passionate about environmental action. Yet achieving meaningful climate justice requires us to connect with audiences who may feel disconnected, indifferent, overwhelmed, or excluded from climate conversations.

The workshop explores how radical imagination can help artists and activists create compelling, emotionally resonant work that speaks beyond traditional climate spaces. Participants will experiment with creative techniques used in artivism, storytelling, music, theatre, and participatory arts to reimagine who climate movements are for and how artistic practice can foster inclusion, empathy, and action.
