About Us

We are In Place of War, and since 2004 we have been driven by our mission that creativity conquers conflict.  We are a global organisation that uses arts, creativity and entrepreneurship in places of conflict as a tool for positive change.  We currently operate in 24 countries (primarily Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Balkans) and enable grassroots change-makers in music, theatre and across the arts to transform cultures of violence and suffering into hope, opportunity and freedom.

The Role

To support our growth strategy, we are recruiting a Development Manager (music industries) to work with our Chief Executive and Senior Leadership team to generate support for In Place of War from:

·      HNI, UHNWI Individuals

·      Trusts & Foundations

·      Corporate Donors & Partners

You will work closely with our team to (i) generate guest-lists and attendees for our VIP fundraising events, (ii) engage new patrons in our programmes, (iii) reach out to potential ambassadors and advocates and (iv) ensure that our fellows and CEO are visible at relevant events and conferences.   Your work will have specific, measurable, actionable targets and we will give you all the support we can to help you reach them.

Our organisation has a significant support base in the creative industries, particularly music and it would be a significant advantage if you have fundraising experience relating to the arts sector, and a passion for music and entertainment.

You will be passionate about international charities, a creative storyteller, resilient, resourceful and enjoy challenges.  You will be comfortable working autonomously and be comfortable presenting and working at a senior level.

You will have significant fundraising experience, and a measurable track-record that can be evidenced.

You will be comfortable with international and domestic travel as required and be great with people, and a comfortable, skilled networker.
