Iceland Residency: Music x Nature
What happens when a group of internationally respected artists come together in one of the most naturally diverse and stunning countries in the world, with one question: can engaging with nature help us be more responsible custodians of the planet?
Through a practical residency, these major global artists will take themselves away from their everyday and together strive to answer this question, by working together to record and document the sounds of nature and help translate its stories into pieces of music to share with the world.
18-25 / 01 / 2027
Taking place at the Arnarstapi Center on Iceland's breathtaking Snæfellsnes Peninsula, the week-long residency blends daily immersions in Iceland's extraordinary natural landscapes, from coastlines and lava fields to glaciers and open sea, with dedicated creation blocks where artists collaborate to compose and record new work. Each evening, the group will gather for discussions exploring the relationship between sound, nature, and climate action.
The work created during the residency will reach audiences around the world through:
An album of new music born from the landscapes of Iceland
Live performances bringing the sounds of the residency to the stage
Immersive installations touring internationally
Short and long-form video content documenting the creative process
A podcast exploring the ideas, conversations, and music made during the week
