Help & Guidance

The collected data has been split up into several categories, simply select one of those categories to begin.

A list (sorted alphabetically) of all the data stored within that category will be displayed. A search can be refined by selecting filters from the drop down menus and buttons.

You can then explore the data by clicking the mouse on the record you would like further information about. If you have selected an artefact, you can download the file by right clicking and selecting ‘save file as’.

  1. I have found an artefact that you hold in your physical archive. How can I access it?

    If you find artefacts that are not digitally available and would like to access the archive for a physical copy, please contact ruth.daniel@manchester.ac.uk

  2. I would like to contribute some data to the database, how do I go about this?

    You can either email your digital files, plus a description of the data to ruth.daniel@manchester.ac.uk or post hard copies to In Place of War (Data Collection), The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PL, UK.

  3. I have found incorrect data on the database about my company. How do I change the data?

    Please note that while the In Place of War team has used reasonable endeavour to ensure that all data stored in the database is accurate, we cannot be responsible for any errors found in the content displayed. If you find data about your organisation, site or person on this database and would like it amending or removing, please email 'ruth.daniel@manchester.ac.uk'
