Tamil Sinhala New Year Festival
CPArts centers island-wide celebrated theTamil Sinhala New Year Festival with various events. Unfortunately, due to the current situation centers in the North were unable to celebrate the festival. However, some centers commemorated the day by conducting Tamil Sinhala traditional games. Batticaloa CPArts visited IDPs where they hosted a prayer service and entertained the children. Additionally, CPArts supplied cutleries for 250 children and facilitated a workshop on proper hygiene. Although each center observed the New Year differently, the message of peace and solidarity was clear. The celebration allowed individuals to cross boundaries and opened up new opportunities for better relationships and understanding of different cultural values, beliefs and traditions.
