Theatre for Everybody: Who we are
We are theatre makers and we want to participate in society through art. We believe in theatre as an artistic production as well as a way to bring awareness toward a full range of social problems. We believe that through plays, we can contribute to changing attitudes, to shaking preconceived ideas or at least to bringing out the problems into the open (social, psychological...).
Through entertainment, through shows, we do not lecture people, we just stimulate them, we question them about themselves, about their beliefs, their behaviours. Our theatre is committed to social life but not directly political: we do not deliver messages.
The artistic quality of our work is our constant goal: the challenge in the coming years remains to create an audience and to make theatre a daily cultural activity as well as a usual event.
Building a theatre play through improvisations:
To create a play on a specific subject, Theater for Everybody goes through the following process:
1- Collect a diverse range of stories, information and opinions on the subject from ordinary people.
2- Record and compile the stories and information.
3- Improvisation stage: Build the frame of the story and improvise scenes from the collected information
4- Once the story is clear and defined, start the rehearsal, set the "mise en scene" and plan theatre effects
5- Prepare all the actors to be able to answer the audience with awareness of the issues and prepare the Joker to take his part.
