This Is Camp X-Ray set out to challenge our apathy over the prisoners at the US Army's Guantanamo Bay camp and investigated the experiences of incarceration and sensory deprivation.
It was constructed in the city of Manchester and was operational from Friday 10th October to Saturday 18th October, 2003. The camp was built for 'Don't Cross The Line' - a series of 3 new art works on the theme of 'the new imperialism'.
It was built and maintained using only mainstream media images as its source. There were prisoners and guards on site at all times.
