Network
The aim of the In Place of War Network is to build upon the contacts we made during the first phase of the project. We intend to transform these brief contacts into sustained conversation among academics and practitioners interested in and involved in performance in places of conflict. The Network will be a permanent organisation that extends beyond this first phase of funded research. We hope it will continue to help us develop knowledge in relation to performance and conflict through collaboration between practitioners and academics in different contexts.
The Network will function as a space for theatre practitioners and academics to share practice and reflect upon the questions and concerns different practices raise. The use of technology and ‘virtual' space reflects the fact that international networking is vital to developing and maintaining successful theatre practice. Practitioners and academics in places of war often experience difficulty traveling to maintain international networks and a virtual network helps to combat this problem.
Help develop more responsive and ethical performance practice and combat isolation among performance practitioners in places of conflict.
