CENTER FOR CHILDREN'S THEATRE DEVELOPMENT – CCTD
CCTD was created as a part of the Multimedia Centre in Prishtina with the aim to focus its activities in theatre for children and young people, emphasizing its educational and social role. CCTD intends to explore on stage the actual problems that preoccupy children and young people. The parallel missions of CCTD are to stimulate playwriting for children's theatre and young people's theatre, whilst using theatre as a forum to educate children on their rights, democracy and reconciliation. CCTD's activities deal some of the most challenging problems of the Kosovan society of today. One of the most ambitious projects of this nature in 2005 and 2006 was the theatre performance “The longest winter”; an Albanian – Serbian project about the missing persons from the last war in Kosova – the issue of the missing persons is a problem that mobilized both communities to work together and to share the solidarity with the families of the missing persons.
